Accessible Toilets

We’re pleased to announce that Portholme Church has started work on a new project to provide completely new accessible toilet facilities. The existing toilets will be replaced with five new fully enclosed toilets featuring modern fixtures and fittings. The improvements will provide a gender-neutral toilet that is fully accessible to wheelchair users, a gender-neutral baby change area with toilet and suitable space / equipment, two dedicated female toilets and one dedicated male toilet.

Portholme Church's existing toilets have not been modernised since the church was built in 1984. This will be a full refresh of our toilet facilities to meet today's accessibility standards and the expectation of the people in our community who use the church and the hall. We’re hoping to be able to get the work done later this year. Look out for more updates!

The project will be carried out in a way that is as eco-friendly as possible to reduce energy use and eliminate paper towel waste, thereby contributing towards our aim of achieving Net Zero Carbon. The planned new floor layout is shown below.
