Zero Hero: Become a Home Energy Hero!

Our Zero Selby, Up For Yorkshire’s community-led project inspiring local action on climate change in Selby, is excited to announce its next Zero Hero event, “Become a Home Energy Hero with The Yorkshire Energy Doctor!

This free event will take place on Tuesday 21st January at 6.30-8pm at Portholme Church. The session will be led by Kate Urwin, The Yorkshire Energy Doctor, and will equip residents with the knowledge and tools they need to make their homes more energy-efficient, save money and reduce their carbon footprint.

Tickets are free, but must be booked in advance.

Uncover the secrets to a more energy-efficient home:

  • Understand your energy use and compare it to others.
  • Identify key areas of energy waste and learn how to tackle them.
  • Discover practical steps to maximise efficiency (including grant opportunities!).

We’re hoping for another visit by Dan Holmes this spring.  Dan last visited Portholme Church in April 2023 – click here for a photo and details from his last visit.

A local amateur dramatic company are planning a performance of Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” this autumn.  Look out for more information appearing as soon as details are confirmed.

The well-loved Bank Holiday Cafeterias will return this year on the following dates;
